Inspired by our Founder's native dialect, the name “Phambili” (pronounced Pum∙bee∙lee) derives from the Zimbabwean language, isiNdebele, and translates to “forward” in English. Our objective to support our partners in progressing their philanthropic agendas and fulfilling their missions, ultimately inspired the brand’s name.

Through our management and consultancy services, we utilize sport as a tool to help our partners engage in social impact by employing ingenuity and resourcefulness. Together with our collective, we leverage sport to promote and support a myriad of humanitarian causes such as: socioeconomic equity, gender equity, sustainability, global citizenship, health/wellness, anti-ableism, and many other important causes.

Phambili develops and implements calculated strategies to achieve meaningful impact. We empower individuals and organizations to be changemakers by using their knowledge, platforms, passion, and resources to positively influence their communities and beyond. We help our partners deliver programming, resources, and initiatives that adeptly address some of the world's most urgent challenges, as we operate from a worldview perspective to make a grassroots impact.​

Phambili is proud member of the United Nation’s Football for the Goals initiative and the Sport for Refugees Coalition, co-led by the Olympic Refuge Foundation, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and the SCORT Foundation.​
